We manufacture and supply systems for automatic doors and gates that deliver convenience and safety, all over the globe. We are a Swiss company, developing and producing high-quality, pioneering solutions such as:
Successful cooperation with our customers all over the world is based on long-term partnerships and our extensive service and sales network.
Safety edges on automatic gates and doors prevent people from becoming injured and vehicles from sustaining damage. They need to spring into action the instant they are required, deforming until the gate drive is able to stop the dangerous movement. With this in mind, ExpertSystem XL products deliver quick response times and are designed for maximum over travel and flexible plasticity. Not only does it meet normative requirements, but ExpertSystem XL also boasts a fully concealed carrier profile that enables it to blend discreetly into ambitious gate designs. The material they are made from, EPDM, is highly durable and maintains its mechanical and color-fast properties over many years. ExpertSystem XL pressure-sensitive edges are tailor-made for your requirements: they can be either preassembled as products cut to length, supplied in kits at a standard length of 2 m, or provided as a modular system for simple self-assembly.
Thanks to the innovative profile cross-section and short contact travel, ExpertSystem XL pressure-sensitive edges respond even at low power levels. ExpertSystem XL profiles possess large effective activation areas and angles – essential for devices such as folding gates.
The plug-in contact end pieces allow ExpertSystem XL safety edges to be assembled in a matter of minutes. The trigger-safe screw-fit plug connections and plug-on profile end caps also ensure very short assembly times on the gate or door – even while servicing is being performed.
The extended over travel makes it possible to choose the smallest available profile height for the application. ExpertSystem XL profiles cover the aluminum profile fully and can be integrated discreetly into ambitious gate designs.
The Hercules 2s microwave motion detector has been specially developed for use on industrial doors such as sectional doors, roller gates, high-speed doors, sliding gates and folding doors. It detects and distinguishes between people or vehicles and, thanks to its integrated cross traffic masking, prevents unnecessary opening.
Hercules 2s is a logical further refinement of BBC Bircher Smart Access's successful microwave detectors. Many years of experience, combined with progressive planar technology, give Hercules 2s a considerable range of functions and reliability.
Use on Vertical Doors
The Hercules guarantees an optimal flow of traffic by reliably and intelligently activating the gate control system by means of direction recognition and cross traffic masking.
Maximum Flexibility
The microwave motion detector features two outputs that can be programmed completely independently of one another, thus offering maximum flexibility for every application. Furthermore, it also features the exit pulse function, which makes it even more versatile.
The Hercules 2s is extremely user-friendly and even easier to program.
Every type of loop detection works totally reliably with this device. It monitors and evaluates the induction loops laid in the ground, detecting all kinds of metallic vehicle – from bicycles right up to HGVs.
ProLoop loop detectors allow for the save opening and closing of barriers at entrances and exits of parking facilities as well as the reliable activation of parking ticket dispensers.
The intelligent software and compact design make this product simple to start up and use.
The intuitive operating and display concept means the ProLoop2 is particularly user-friendly. It features numerous adjustments and functions, plus the highest levels of reliability are guaranteed because the loop is electrically isolated from the detector. Alongside the inductance measurement, it also boasts a simulation mode and an option to reset to factory settings.
Simple, efficient, reliable: this loop detector works just as reliably and precisely as ProLoop2. It monitors and evaluates the installed induction loop, detects metallic vehicles of all kinds and facilitates immediate switching at the gate.
The focus on the basic functional scope means that this product is easier and quicker to start up and use than ever before. And at an excellent price-performance ratio, too.
Safety controllers from BBC Bircher Smart Access monitor the connected contact mats and safety edges for actuation and interrupts. They are also monitored for a change of the quiescent current. The clear LED and LCD displays show the status of the connected sensors at a glance. Since programming is performed at the factory and adjustments are really easy for the user to make, you can rely on getting your switching device started up quickly. EsGate 2 / EsGate 3
EsGate switching device work reliably and are particularly user-friendly, thanks to their illuminated LCD display.
They can be programmed in a variety of ways and, when combined with contact mats or safety edges, are suitable for a wide range of applications. These switching devices, too, are monitored for quiescent current and reliably evaluate the pulses from the sensors. EsGate 3 is equipped with two fully-fledged channels, has a self-monitoring function and attains PLe, cat. 3 in accordance with EN ISO 13849-1.
EsMatix 3
EsMatix 3 has been specifically designed to ensure safety in plants, robots and at automated workstations. It features two signal inputs, making it possible to connect either one sensor or two. Used in conjunction with Bircher safety contact mats or safety edges, EsMatix 3 represents a certified system that satisfies the criteria of performance level PLe with category 3 according to EN ISO 13849-1.
Electrical sensing edges from BBC Bircher Smart Access are used for protecting crushing and shearing points on automatic doors, gates and grids. Profiles of different sizes in combination with various switching devices protect people and objects safely and reliably according to the applicable standards.
They are based on the tried-and-tested principle of the drawing the contact strip into the rubber profile. Even with only minimal pressure, the conductive rubber profiles are pressed against one another and the opening pulse is forwarded to a switching device or a transmission system. The technical design ensures high reliability even in unusual applications.
Sensing edges on the folding door
ClickLine, CoverLine or StandardLine sensing edges, used in conjunction with a ExpertSystem XRF radio transmission system, provide optimum protection for the primary closing edge.
ClickLine – rubber profiles with click-fit foot
Easy installation is a defining feature of ClickLine: click and go. No need for time-consuming pulling in from the side. This means even damaged safety edges can be replaced quickly and effortlessly. The optimally designed profile shape also guarantees the greatest possible switching reliability.
CoverLine – rubber profiles for high visual requirements
The aluminum profile is covered by the lateral attachment principle. This results in a uniform appearance that blends very well even into challenging designs. CoverLine sensing edges are especially suitable for vertical installation, e.g. on sliding gates at site entrances, and for lengthy over travel distances.
StandardLine – rubber profiles with standard foot
StandardLine sensing edges offer a number of different profile types for a variety of applications. We would be delighted to show you all achievable designs on request.
S-Line – miniature sensing edge system
S-Line miniature sensing edges consist of various components that are combined to create a safety edge system. With the right components, systems like this are easy and quick to build, even by the user him/herself. This gives really great flexibility in terms of producing different types and lengths.
